Paduddhar Stotra

नमस्ते शरण्ये शिवे सानुकम्पे, नमस्ते जगद्व्यापिके विश्वरूपे।

नमस्ते जगद्वन्द्यपादारविन्दे, नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे॥१॥

To her who is the refuge, who is peaceful and merciful – salutations,

To her who pervades over all and is the universal form – salutations,

To her whose lotus feet is worshipped by the universe – salutations,

To you who on appeal “Protect me Durga” saves all – salutations.

नमस्ते जगच्चिन्त्यमानस्वरूपे, नमस्ते महायोगिनि ज्ञानरूपे।

नमस्ते नमस्ते सदानन्दरूपे, नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे॥२॥

To her whom the whole wide world meditates on – salutations,

To the great `Yogini’, who is the absolute knowledge – salutations,

Salutations to the very exceptionally perpetual Bliss – salutations,

To you who on appeal “Protect me Durga” saves all – salutations.

अनाथस्य दीनस्य तृष्णातुरस्य, क्षुधार्तस्य भीतस्य बद्धस्य जन्तोः।

त्वमेका गतिर्देवि निस्तारकर्त्री, नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे॥३॥

You are the only refuge and the one who provides salvation,

To the orphan, the oppressed and the deprived - realisation,

To the fear struck, the coward and the attached - emancipation,

To you who on appeal “Protect me Durga” saves all – salutations.

अरण्ये रणे दारुणे शुत्रुमध्ये- ऽनले सागरे प्रान्तरे राजगेहे।

त्वमेका गतिर्देवि निस्तार हेतुर, नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे॥४॥

You are the only refuge and the boat that saves with toleration,

From forest, war, danger and from midst of enemies - liberation,

Me from fire, ocean, from enemy territory and from forts - freedom,

To you who on appeal “Protect me Durga” saves all – salutations.

अपारे महदुस्तरेऽत्यन्तघोरे, विपत् सागरे मज्जतां देहभाजाम्।

त्वमेका गतिर्देवि निस्तारनौका, नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे॥५॥

You are limitless, yet rescue all from the infinite culmination,

You are fearsome, rescue all from misery with comprehension,

You are the only way to cross this limitless ocean with freedom,

To you who on appeal “Protect me Durga” saves all – salutations.

नमश्चण्डिके चण्डोर्दण्डलीला, समुत्खण्डिता खण्डिताशेषशत्रो।

त्वमेका गतिर्विघ्नसन्दोहहर्त्री, नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे॥६॥

Chandika who playfully killed the bad natured Chanda - salutations,

Killed those remaining enemies who were left out or not - felicitation,

You are my only way who sows the seed of rescue – my ascension,

To you who on appeal “Protect me Durga” saves all – salutations.

त्वमेवाघ भावाधृता सत्यवादि - न्यमेयाजिता क्रोधना क्रोधनिष्ठा।

इडा पिङ्गला त्वं सुषुम्ना च नाडी, नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे॥७॥

You get angry with sinners, liars, with uncontrolled infuriation,

And those who can not control themselves or their emotions,

You are Ida, Pingala and Sushumna – their other manifestations,

To you who on appeal “Protect me Durga” saves all – salutations.

नमो देवि दुर्गे शिवे भीमनादे, सरस्वत्यरुन्धत्यमोघस्वरूपे।

विभूतिः शुची कालरात्रिः सती त्वम्, नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे॥८॥

To Goddess Durga, consort of Shiv my sincere salutations,

With a fearsome sound, the innate power with boundless dimensions,

Saraswati, Arundati, Sachi, Sati Devi, deep dark night incarnations,

To you who on appeal “Protect me Durga” saves all – salutations.

शरणमसि सुराणां सिद्ध विद्याधराणां, मुनिमनुजपशूनां दस्युभिस्त्रासितानां।

नृपतिगृहगतानां व्याधिभिः पीडितानाम्, त्वमसि शरणमेका देवि दुर्गे प्रसीद॥९॥

To Devas, Vidhyadharas, Sidhas and sages - you be the only protection,

You the refuge to those punished by demons, or by kings sent to prison,

You are the only refuge to those attacked by diseases or condemnation,

Do be pleased with me, Oh Goddess I surrender to you in humilation.
